Actually, there is no need for outside appeals.
Here is what Roland Allen wrote about financial appeals for missions:
"We cannot advance, we cannot satisfy the need, we cannot use the opportunity, because we are held up by the attitude of mind which makes any advance depend upon the success of an appeal for money, or for men, or for both. . . . In the live of St Paul we see how it was done. . . . They knew that their one work was to establish the Church, and to establish the Church they needed nothing that was not before them on the spot. They needed Christian men; they were there in the persons of non-Christian men. . . . All that the Church needed she had, because all that she needed was there on the spot in the lives and possessions of those whom God called. There was no limit to advance, no need for an appeal for help to any outside source."
