OBSERVATION - INDIGENOUS CHURCH:
Definition of the mission goal

The church is indigenous,

1) when it is culturally a part of its own world;

2) when its witness is relevant in meeting the needs of its congregation and the world about it;

3) when its message is meaningful in the context where it belongs;

4) when its physical form and operating structures are suitable for the culture;

5) when it acts on its own initiative in the service ministries arising from local needs and crises and in missionary outreach;

6) and above all, when it is aware of its own theological identity -- in other words, it sees itself as the Body of Christ ministering the love of Christ, the mind of Christ, the Word of Christ, and His ministry of reconciliation and comfort in the location where it is set in the world.
