"Dependency: When our Giving Does More Harm Than Good." This and many other related issues were popular in mission circles during the 1960-70 period.
"How Does It Happen and What Can We Do to Overcome It?" Still a good question. Unfortunately, not many mission organizations have seriously answered the question, or even addressed it. Most are doing "the same old same old" using methods developed during the age of colonialism. If you know of a Lutheran mission organization that has succeeded, under God, in developing a durable indigenous church in a former mission area, please let us know. We have yet to find one.
